Water Industry Update From UWM, GMC and Badger Meter

If you've paid any attention to local business publications or have attended a Spreenkler meetup you know that Milwaukee is building toward becoming the freshwater hub of the world. Having just been designated by the United Nations as a global hub of freshwater science and technology (
info), Milwaukee is poised to reach this goal. However, this is where you come in. Water industry leaders will need your support at an upcoming public hearing. More on that later. For now, let's focus on getting you up to speed on this water thing directly from the experts. Let's grab a drink at the Iron Horse Hotel and learn more about the importance of the School of Freshwater Sciences, what the world is doing in water and what our water industry is focused on. Here's the agenda:
6:00pm Steve Glynn, President of Spreenkler Welcome
6:05pm Rich Meeusen, CEO of Badger Meter What is the Milwaukee water industry and why does it matter?
6:25pm Julia Taylor, President of the Greater Milwaukee Committee What will create the best location for our water research?
6:40pm Carlos Santiago, Chancellor, UWM Introducing the School of Freshwater Sciences
7:00 Questions from you! Please join us!

Very exciting. Starting this weekend I'll be helping my teen and pre-teen plan to study here in the region and pursue careers in water related fields.

The fact that Steve got these three heavyweights in one room is astounding. Thanks Steve, incredible event. I'll be pushing for that meeting on the 28th at city hall and encourage ALL to push for the fresh water institute on our fresh coast. 5 stars.
