- Community of Drummers Circle at Memorial Park in Royal Oak
Please join us for another celebration of the return of summer with the lovely sounds of beating drums. Bring something to sit on, and if you have them, percussion instruments to share. If you don't have a drum, there will be extra drums or other percussion items on hand. Feel free to bring snacks to share, as well. :-) ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you sign up, and something changes in your schedule, please change your RSVP. We will start counting no-shows, and you will be taken off the mailing list after two (2) no shows.
- Drums Across the Water!
Our 2nd annual International Drum Circle - Drums Across the Water will take place on the shores of the Detroit River. We have drummers on both sides of the river, at Coventry Park in Windsor and on Belle Isle in Detroit. Join us on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 2pm for a unique experience as we create a drum circle across the river. Share community, have some fun and drum! This is a free event on both sides. Belle Isle itself requires a DNR license plate sticker or Recreation Passport to drive on. Entry by walking, biking, or public transit is free. More info: https://www.belleisleconservancy.org/belle-isle-frequently-asked-questions Bring drums, shakers, something to sit on, hydration, sunscreen, and friends. Shaded spots are limited. Food or water are a good far hike away and the bathrooms are by the athletic fields. Please plan accordingly. Canadian drummers will meet at the fountain at Coventry Park in Windsor. American drummers will meet on Belle Isle, on the east side past Dossin Museum. More info will be available closer to the event and partly depends on Grand Prix clean up. Out of town drummers seeking to camp overnight might consider Sterling State Park or Maybury State Park. Cheers!
