The life and achitecture of Albert Kahn

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • He designed many buildings in Detroit, it will be presented by Prof. Michael Farrell(he has taught at CMU, CCS, and an adjunct education curator at the DIA. )He is presenting at Rochester Community Library in Rochester, MI on Sept. 19.
You have to register for the program so I am not sure what non Rochester residents should do..but I did see earlier Detroit centered lectures posted.

The Fischer Bldg. downtown is an AK building. Any interest in doing a self guided walking tour and then head over to grab something to drink afterwards (i.e. Great Lakes Coffee or Small Plates.)

Check with Pure Detroit in the FB. They had been doing free tours every Saturday. It is very informative and you go up to the 28th floor of what was the Fisher brohers offices.

We did the Pure Detroit tour last weekend, was fun. They also do the Guardian building tour.

I just googled this. This was last September. Not sure why it's up here now.

I'm confused. It says that it's in September. I'm guessing it was in September of last year? I'd really like to hear Dr. Farrell's talk on Kahn. Maybe we are trying to get him to give it to us somewhere in Detroit? I think the DIA would be swell or else anywhere else downtown. Maybe the main library or somewhere at Wayne State?

Would like to go but Rochester is too far of drive for me. How about doing it at the DIA?

oh- guess I missed this if it ws sept 19

The program begins at 7 at Rochester Community Library in downtown Rochester. Normally you need a library card to register but maybe non-residents can call the library to try to register(248) 656-2900. I will likely depend on how popular the program is.
