Once again Carl Wright will be sharing his extensive Erlang know-how with us. Here's his description of his presentation:
Learn the options you have in Erlang to bring resources into and out of your long-running applications. Hear how existing applications grow with increased demand and recover from failed systems while continuing to run and serve their users.
We will review differing solutions, including pg2, gen_leader, cloudl process groups and gproc.
We will finish by reviewing the use of "resource_discovery", a module introduced in the book "Erlang and OTP In Action". It is a peer-to-peer system with no hard-coded topology that you can use to scale your systems as they run for years. I use it in my new systems.
NB: This month we will be doing a joint meeting with Detroit Lambda Lounge so we're moving the meeting to the 19th. Please make sure you update your RSVP either here or on the DLL meetup site: http://www.meetup.com/Detroit-Lambda-Lounge/
