This presentation will discuss how Windows Phone applications can be enriched by leveraging the power of the Cloud that is made available by Windows Azure. The Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone will be explored to show how to quickly tap into resources in the cloud for computation, storage, identity, and communication from within a Windows Phone application.

John Garland is a Senior Consultant at Wintellect and has been developing software professionally for over 13 years. Prior to consulting, he spent much of his career working on high-performance video and statistical analysis tools for premier sports teams, with an emphasis on the NFL, the NBA, and Division 1 NCAA Football and Basketball. John lives in New Hampshire with his wife and daughter, where he is active participant in the New England development community. When he isn’t finding cause for yet another upgrade to some piece of home technology, he occasionally turns to motorcycling and Florida Gator Football to unplug. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. John holds several current Microsoft Certifications, including MCPD – Windows Phone 7 Developer.
