GeoDev Meetup - Houston, TX

We are happily hosting an Esri GeoDev Meetup in Houston, TX on Thursday, November 14th. Food and beverages will be provided at the GeoDev Meetup! (Come a lil' hungry, why don't ya?)

This GeoDev Meetup is a social gathering for developers to discuss geospatial technologies, complementary third-party tools, and development platforms (e.g., Silverlight, Java, Flex, JavaScript) that are supported by Esri. Presentations run the gamut of our community: from Web development to mobile location development for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7 to automating tasks with Python.

Developers of all levels of expertise are welcome, from seasoned GIS professionals to those new to geospatial development.

At these meetups, you can:

Meet cool people. (Duh, we're there.)

Show us what you got by demo'ing your application or framework.

Make a name for yourself in presenting a cool new/interesting concept or idea.

Impress someone by sharing your experiences.

Make BFFs for life - connect with other developers!

Here's what's on the agenda:

5:30 - 6:30 PM Registration and Social (Appetizers and Beverages served - YES!)

6:30 - 7:00 PM Keynote Speaker

7:00 - 8:00 PM Lightning talks

8:00 - 9:00 PM Raffle, Networking and Social. Two great FANTASTIC prizes:

Great place to have the event! I'd like to get the Houston Geo Dev together quarterly (or there abouts) with or without esri...better if they pick up the tab on the pizza and beers but something should be workable.

Had a great time! I echo the comment on the nametags, but this event really did provide helpful and meaningful dialogue between devs.

You should have name tags. Other than that, great MeetUp.

Where is the nearest parking for this event?

    November 4, 2013

    • Brandon C.

I don't think START has a parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking around their block and neighboring blocks.

There is parking in the grass lot around the back of START, and plenty of street parking.

I missed this event in Austin in October, but since I now work in the Houston area, I will do my best to get to this event. I'm looking forward to meeting fellow GIS developers in the Houston area.
