DevOpsATL Monthly Meetup - Dominica DeGrandis on Kanban

We gather starting at 6:30pm for food/drinks and start the meetup around 7pm.

Bio:

Dominica DeGrandis trains and coaches teams on the Kanban method to improve workflow and throughput. She is keen on providing visibility and transparency across teams to bring alignment to the entire organization. She combines experience, practice and theory to help teams level up their capability.

Dominica is an independent trainer and coach and international speaker. She developed the "Kanban for Devops" simulation game and is a Kanban Coaching Professional with Lean Kanban University. Follow Dominica on Twitter: @dominicad

Summary of presentation:

A true story about the trials and tribulations of an Operations team during a period of extreme growth. A team sinking in unremitting requests and expedited issues. A heroic team who began to track work, measure capability and push back on the demand. We’ll examine the three metrics that mattered to this team, the failures along the way, and the forum used to influence the desired outcome.

Great presentation that gave me some ideas - which is usually a good thing.

Dominica - thanks again for the presentation. It was very insightful and I'm already trying out leankit.com app for our org. Thanks again!

Dominica - Really loved your presentation. Would someday like to take your workshop (after I learn a lot more on my own).

Really looking forward to a formal presentation on Kanban. I haven't studied it since B-school (it is heavily used in operational management). Looking forward to learning about its adaptation to software teams.

Also my company (Tourbuzz) is looking for our first full-time DevOps hire, so if you're in the market for a new opportunity please come find me to chat!

I really wanted to be there for this. I had even contacted Ms. DeGrandis directly last year about holding such an event on the east coast and hopefully in ATL. However, I recently started a new job and just can't make it. :-(
