Arthur Viegers
Devops MongoDB Tool Kit

Databases are becoming more complex and more feature rich as more use cases demand more functionality. The same thing is true when we start dealing with Ops tooling and environments. Putting all of this together generally falls into the hands of devops people. This talk will be approaching the different tools available that makes life of these individuals more enjoyable. We will be reviewing the basic systems available for: debugging && troubleshooting configuration and deployment tooling (puppet, chef, docker, vagrant, ansible ...) API's for automation and backup general considerations while integrating with state of the art services (new relic, appdynamics …) By the end of this talk one should take home: tips and tricks for your devops activities basic tooling understanding and samples of execution API examples for integration purposes for your awesome MongoDB systems.

Arthur Viegers is Principal Solutions Architect at MongoDB based in the Netherlands. He is responsible for guiding customers and users to design and build reliable, scalable systems using MongoDB. Arthur specializes in IoT/M2M applications.

Desmond Delissen
Aiding Continuous Testing with Minosse

With testing late in the software development process, you risk discovering problems at a very late stage. You want to be able to test earlier so that: issues can be fixed earlier, submitted code is checked with every push/merge/build.

Through time, we tried to first have a common language for all the testers that could tests in a similar fashion and is simple for various stakeholders to understand. We started creating tests as soon as a sprint started and included the tests as part of our build process. Minosse is that framework with a common language of creating tests for APIs and aided in the process of continuous testing, both in a manual and automated manner. We will show how we formulate the tests and how the process of testing within the SDLC looks like for us. This tool is open sourced and can be useful in testing APIs integrated in the build process.

Desmond started his career at a big consultancy company. Via this company he got the change to join a mobile app project in the beginning of 2012. Desmond enjoined this so much that he decided to start working for IceMobile and become a expert in testing mobile apps and their backend systems.

Martijn Gijsberti Hodenpijl
Testers and Ops - What can we learn from each other?

The role of the tester has been changed drastically in Agile projects. The next step is to look at the role of the tester in a devops team.

* What can testers learn from operations ?

* What can operations learn from testers?

* What role and what kind of profile a tester has in a devops team?

Martijn Gijsberti Hodenpijl works since 1996 in ICT Industry in various roles, developer, QA engineer, Qa manager, devops engineer, architect and trainer. He is passionate about testing and especially automated testing. He thinks testing is the most misunderstood and underestimated activity in ICT.
