Hey Folks! The next meetup is just around the corner, so get ready!
We are introducing a new "DevOps Kitchen" series where you will learn what is behind the scenes of Cracow's companies and what exciting challenges they are facing and solving. In our first episode, we will visit Codewise's Kitchen and we really hope to try Rob's very own MCTCCINNO (https://bit.ly/2xOLB1x) ;)
* make sure to RSVP with your full name and take your ID with you
* DevOps Kitchen series will not be hosted at Base so make sure to always check event venue
* let organizers know if you want to organize DevOps Kitchen episode in your company

24/7 online services on AWS EC2 spot instances - challenge accepted!
Find out how Codewise uses AWS EC2 Spot Instances to manage 24/7 operability for mission-critical applications. Short introductions to spots and how we "get shit done" with our homegrown supervisor called Spotty without compromising the reliability of managed services. We will present the benefits and caveats of using AWS spot instances and their evolution over the past year to the state it is today. Will you dare to try them and save thousands?
Config Server - highly available approach to centralized configuration management
A story of how Codewise moved away from S3/etcd based solution and built resilient, highly available git-backed system for storing configuration. Config Server is based on Spring Cloud Config backed by git@GitHub with failover to git@GCP. Hosted on AWS with multiregional resiliency. Need more buzzwords? ;)
