About the speaker:

Augusto Rosa is Shomi's Head of Video & Network Infrastructure, an accomplished technical engineer with an effective management style who built and led highly functioning agile teams. Since joining Shomi in 2014, he helped scale Shomi from 30 employees to almost 120, while accommodating Shomi's growing customer base. During the last two years, he repositioned Shomi's operational teams into agile teams applying DevOps methodologies. He has helped migrate, design and build Shomi's highly scalable cloud infrastructure, leveraging AWS and Akamai. Lately he was focused on growing Shomi's operational effectiveness, improving video quality for its customers, and optimizing infrastructure in an effort to reduce churn. Shomi's owners have announced a close down of the business as of November 30th 2016.
