#LevelUp - Mark Lapasa
Fresh out of school, you've hit the job market and learn how difficult it is to land that first job. You stare at the technology keywords and you feel you don't have what the market is asking. It's very discouraging. Or you could already be an established developer who is lucky enough to have a lot of open doors to choose from but remain uncertain what would be the best move. Should you stay or should you go? Is the grass really greener on the other side? If so, by how much?
This talk is meant to complement the career-related efforts of both budding and seasoned developers. If these sound like the shoes you or someone you know are in, I can tell you I have been one of the many who have been in them. As a fellow developer like yourself, I would like to share what tactics I've learned to deal with these challenges. The audience will walk away with a new set of heuristics to add to their toolbox that are unique to coders of varying experiences. The session promises to be an analytical approach on not what you will code next but where. After the talk, everyone is welcome to take the conversation online via Twitter using #LevelUp #devTO hashtags.
