Join Devhub Toronto for their weekly series of Lunch&&Learns-- casual one-hour seminars with varying topics targeted at developers. Why not use your lunch break to learn something new?

This week's Lunch&&Learn will be about "Functional Programming in Javascript", presented by Iheatu Chris Wogu.

Iheatu is a Software Developer at Rangle.io working as a Software Development consultant. He has worked on several projects building out bout user interfaces and tools that allow customers to build their own user interfaces. Previously Iheatu was a Full Stack Developer working in C#, .NET MVC and .NET Core Technologies, building data pipelines for ingesting large data into databases, as well as building out features for products.

Javascript has made a lot of strides in facilitating a more functional style of programming within the language. In the talk I will be going over some of the popular libraries we have in JavaScript that allow developers to easily manipulate data. We will be looking at examples of how a more functional approach to JavaScript can make code a lot cleaner, easier to read, and harder to break. We will also be looking at how architecture is affected when coding with a functional style.
