Join Devhub Toronto for their weekly series of Lunch&&Learns-- casual one-hour seminars with varying topics targeted at developers. Why not use your lunch break to learn something new?

Since the arrival of AlexNet in 2012, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been the force behind many of deep learning's recent breakthroughs. In this workshop, discover how to make the magic happen on your own! Using Keras (a high-level API for Tensorflow), you will learn how to train a CNN to recognize images with a lesson adapted from the fast.ai (https://www.fast.ai) course 'Deep Learning For Coders.' The lesson will be conducted using GPUs on top of Google's Colaboratory platform.

Requirements
Participants should bring laptops and have a Google Drive account they can use during the workshop. Intermediate programming experience in Python is also recommended.

Helen Ngo is a Machine Learning Engineer at Dessa (https://www.dessa.com), a Toronto-based company that helps enterprises build value with advanced artificial intelligence. She co-organizes the Toronto Women's Data Group and was named a Sidewalk Toronto Fellow as part of the Sidewalk Labs & Waterfront Toronto Smart City initiative on Toronto's Eastern Waterfront. Previously, she worked as a data scientist in the telecommunications industry, served on the steering committee for the Toronto Deep Learning Series, and was part of the editorial staff at Towards Data Science.
