Join Devhub Toronto for their weekly series of Lunch&&Learns-- casual one-hour seminars with varying topics targeted at developers. Why not use your lunch break to learn something new?

This week's Lunch&&Learn is about 'RESTful Service Design' , presented by Hughie Coles, Lead Developer at Plooto.

Applications no longer live in a silo. Whether integrating with external services such as Twitter and Facebook, or consuming your own data in a service-oriented architecture, communicating with services across a network is an integral part of modern application development. REST is a stateless, lightweight, and scalable architectural style for designing APIs using existing network protocols. Regardless of stack, language, or end (front or back), REST is a fundamental skill for most developers.

Hughie leads the development team at Plooto, a Toronto-based FinTech company, and a founding member of, a financial education platform. He is also passionate about clean code, and constant improvement. Hughie is a full-stack developer working mostly on the .NET stack.
