Dharma Drink Friends!
Let's go experience old school deep in Brooklyn at Ruby's Old Tyme Bar and Grill in Coney Island. Then we're going to watch the fireworks from the Boardwalk.
Ruby Bar Restaurant is a Coney Island institution. The location was originally Hebrew National Deli and Bar starting in 1934, then in 1970's it was purchased by the current owners and converted to Ruby's.
Ruby's is New York Magazine's critic's pick! Per Brooklyn Historical Society: "Rubin Jacobs opened Ruby's in 1975 and it has since become a mainstay as the headquarters for both the Mermaid Parade and the Polar Bear Club..." It's weather through two hurricanes and near eviction in 2010.
At around 9:30pm we will go check out the Coney Island summer fireworks.
It's a trek, real trek, but it will be an island of nostalgia in our fast changing New York landscape...
Hope to see y'all!
Pete and Eddie,
