Learn to Meditate! (Weekly Guided Meditation)
The program on Tuesday's begins with a short introduction on a Buddhist topic, followed by a guided meditation. It generally lasts around 45 minutes.* Diamond Way Buddhism offers practical and effective methods to realize mind’s inherent richness for the benefit of all. With an accessible and modern style, it works with people’s confidence and desire, using every situation in life to develop fearlessness and joy. We always present a basic introduction for newcomers, and the meditations are guided in English. Diamond Way Buddhist Group Philadelphia belongs to an international non-profit network of over 600 lay Diamond Way Buddhist centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Lama Ole Nydahl and under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.

What we're about

Weekly Guided Meditation every Tuesday evening at 7pm. We give a basic introduction to newcomers, and meditation is guided in English. The Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Philadelphia is part of an international network of over 600 meditation centers in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

These centers were founded and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of H.H. 16th Karmapa. They are now under the spiritual guidance of H.H. 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinlay Thaye Dorje. Our center consists of people and families, who work full-time jobs, and incorporate Diamond Way teachings and meditations into their daily lives. Our organization is a not for profit, entirely run through volunteer work. Our members share responsibility for guiding meditations, answering questions, and giving explanations about Buddhism. We hold weekly meditation evenings, which are open to the public and are free of charge.

There is a relaxed social atmosphere and questions are encouraged. Meditations are guided in English and involve visualization and mantra recitation, allowing space, clarity and joy to naturally arise. Other activities include teachings and meditation retreats. From time to time we do request donations to help share the costs of bringing teachers from throughout the country or world.
