Diana Jelena's Beginner class introduces students to the basics -- the "core" movements -- of belly dance. Learning and practicing these movements is not only fun and enlightening...but an enjoyable way to exercise.
Diana Jelena patiently breaks down belly dance movements into understandable head-to-toe instruction: (1) head movements (such as head-slides); (2) shoulder movements (such as shoulder circles, shimmies); (3) arm and wrist movements (such as wrist circles, classic snake arms); (4) chest and ab movements (such as chest lifts/drops, circles, undulations; (5) hip movements (such as hip slides, lifts, drops, locks, shimmies); and (6) basic dance steps.
Eventually, once students gain a "vocabulary" of basic movements, the class moves on to some beginner choreography.
Cost varies depending upon #of students who show up. One (private lesson) is $20, 2+ $15 -- payable in cash prior to start of each class. Prepayment for 10 weeks is guaranteed at the lowest rate of $150.
