If you are an analytics professional who tracks user behaviors on websites or apps, it’s important to know your privacy responsibilities. Join Jon Brescia, Director of Adjudications and Technology for the Online-Interest Based Advertising Accountability Program, for an overview of what analysts, advertisers and product managers need to know learn about industry best practices for privacy in targeted advertising, also known as tailored or interest-based advertising. What You'll Learn: Understand the difference between data collection for analytics purposes versus advertising purposes Recognize when data collection for analytics may overlap with collection for targeted advertising Identifying your compliance obligations as a mobile app, website publisher, or technology vendor Speaker: Jon Brescia, Director, Adjudications & Technology Jon Brescia is a privacy and forensic technology specialist. Part attorney, part tech guy, he is equally comfortable drafting legal arguments or analyzing network traffic logs. Jon currently serves as the Director of Adjudications and Technology for the Online Interest-Based Advertising Accountability Program at the Council of Better Business Bureaus. In this position, Jon supervises the monitoring and investigation of companies’ interest-based advertising practices to ensure that they comply with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s cross-industry principles. Prior to joining the Accountability Program, Jon worked as a private attorney in Columbus, Ohio, on small business and criminal litigation matters. Before that, he performed legislative, regulatory, and statistical research for the Ohio School Employees Health Care Board, which was tasked with reforming state public school employees’ health care plans.
