DCHDC is back for September and we’ve got a great pair of presentations.
First up is Andrew Cassidy-Amstutz, a Processing Archivist for the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress and the DC Caucus Representative for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC). He’ll be talking about October’s American Archives Month and how you can find more information about events and activities.
Next up is Danna Bell, an Educational Resources Specialist at the Library of Congress and the new president of the Society of American Archivists.
She’ll be talking about where she sees SAA and the archival profession going over the next year or two, with some thoughts on how emerging professionals can position themselves for success within the profession.
We're also excited to announce our new location at the Bier Baron at[masked]nd Street Northwest, Washington, DC. The "BB" (or "Double B," or "the Baron" or whatever works for you) is a mere 2 Blocks from the Dupont Circle metro stop. Just go two blocks west on Q St., turn left and go a half block south on 22nd St. NW and you'll see it on your left side. We'll be in the back room in the downstairs level.
The BB has all the charms of Stetsons but is also wheelchair accessible!
Digital Cultural Heritage DC meets on the third Thursday of every month. If you're interested in acquiring, preserving, stewarding, providing access to, exhibiting and interpreting digital cultural heritage, join us to meet like-minded folks, hear what people are doing in this space, and learn about some awesome projects and technologies in the field. For updates, join our meetup group here.
Please note that the Bier Baron is a bar, and 21 and over.
