Networking Breakfast at the British Consulate

  • Apr 9, 2013 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

The British Consulate General will host our next meetup, April 9th, at 9am. I will also send out an email to collect RSVPs.

This month's meetup will feature a recap of our activity at SXSW promoting digital diplomacy.

We'll also have Nick O'Brien from the Mayor's Office speaking about how we as foreign governments can use NYC government data to interact with and serve our nationals in the area. His bio is below.

Hope to see you there!

Nicholas O’Brien serves as Chief of Staff at the Analytics Unit of the Mayor's Office of Policy and Strategic Planning. The unit is under the direction of the New York City's first ever Chief Analytics Officer, Michael Flowers. The Analytics Unit is responsible for facilitating inter-agency data sharing and assisting agencies with improving data quality, analyzing information and project management.

To achieve this end we have worked with the NYC DoITT to create DataBridge, a platform which integrates more than 100 million pieces of City information from over thirty different agencies and layers on tools that allow federated search, data management, and predictive analysis. This platform positions the City to meet the requirements of the new Open Data Law and moves the City towards a more open, transparent and efficient future.

Mr. O’Brien joined the Mayor's Office after completing a Master of Public Administration Degree at Columbia University where he focused on statistical analysis, sustainability and research.
