Join us for the Finale Showcase event where teams of youth will demo final products created for clients over the course of the weekend hackathon.
What is WebSlam?
WebSlam is an intensive, two week long experience where students develop real-world skills in web development and then put those skills to work to help others.
Through the aid of tech coaches and direct instruction, youth participants (irrespective of prior web development background) learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and PHP through developing for the WordPress platform.
As a capstone to the week of learning, students solve the needs of actual clients (nonprofits) and build websites in an intensive hackathon-style "WebSlam."
DHF is proud to announce that WebSlam was one of 16 national winners of the 5th annual DML Competition Project:Connect, funded by the MacArthur Foundation, Mozilla, and others. Read more about it here (http://bit.ly/16zwWRk)
