So this is the last DigitalOcean Amsterdam meetup for 2018 so lets make it a good one! We're going to do something slightly different this month and host the Second Annual DigitalOcean Amsterdam End of Year Quiz Bonanza. The format is pretty simple. There will be questions and you will hopefully know the answers. You can tell me your answers via your phone (or internet connected device). If you know the most answers of everyone there, you will win the Grand Prize, $300 of DO credit! There are also prizes for second and third place.

And of course it wouldn't be a DO meetup without speakers. This month we've got Bas from Github talking us through Github actions.

As always, There will be plenty of snacks and cold beverages and we'll cap the evening off with pizzas and general chit chat. The talks are suitable for all experience levels so just come along, grab a drink and see where the night takes you. It's all pretty casual.

If you can't make it (this is the one you really should come too!), you can join us on the livestream - https://youtu.be/gjZVmLzitmc

Bas Peters (GitHub) - GitHub Actions: open source workflow automation
In this talk Bas Peters will give an overview and demo of GitHub Actions. GitHub Actions are a new way to automate your workflows as code hosted, shared and executed on GitHub.com. GitHub Actions apply open source principles to workflow automation allowing you to share and discover actions to use in your workflows. You can use them to build and test your code, to package and deploy, to send notifications on specific events like creating a release or to automate welcoming new users to your open source projects. We think GitHub Actions are going to have a big impact on software development and we would love to hear your feedback and ideas.

Bas Peters is a Solutions Engineer at GitHub
