Midnight in Broad Daylight - by Pamela Rotner Sakamoto
Meticulously researched and beautifully written, the true story of a Japanese American family that found itself on opposite sides during World War II—an epic tale of family, separation, divided loyalties, love, reconciliation, loss, and redemption—this is a riveting chronicle of U.S.–Japan relations and the Japanese experience in America.

What we're about

This is an enlightening - no pressure - way to learn and appreciate each other.

We will meet once a month at a comfortable dining spot in Rockville - and discuss a book that either takes us to or is descriptive of various national and international locations. Books may be fiction / non-fiction and contemporary / time period literature. The first meeting for each book will be an overview of the book where participants may share or question the main theme and characters.

Each member is responsible for bringing their own copy of the book. Members can join at any time - prior meetings for the book did not need to be attended.

As we progress through each book - we not only gain insight into the literary work - but gain insight from each other's experiences and perspectives.
