For those of you who like hiking:
The date is next Tuesday, June 10!
An Invitation from Bruce Matthews:

Most of you are aware of our music video project celebrating our North Country Trail volunteers--"We Build Trail in Low Places." Although the song is a tongue in check parody of "Friends in Low Places," and we hope it will be funny, it is a very serious effort to recognize and celebrate the efforts of our volunteers. We hope it will go viral and draw lots of attention to the fun we're having in building and maintaining the trail and telling its story.

We need some help in getting it done, and I'm inviting and encouraging you and your friends to consider a starring role! OK, its crowd scenes and vignettes, but we need way more help than folks that have signed up. We figure at least 60 for the barroom scene, and there's less than ten signed up to help! Gonna be a mighty empty bar!

We also need help with trail and campfire scenes. Here's the schedule:

11:00--11:30 Arrive at Riverbend Bar (8124 Fulton St E., Ada, MI) We'll coordinate, have lunch and start shooting the barroom scene (probably best to keep to 18+) around noon.

2:00 Arrive at Upper Fallasburg Park near the NCT.. We're shooting hiking situational vignettes in a trail environment. Kids welcome!!

6:00 (or earlier--still TBD) Fallasburg Park near the NCT. Campfire scene, situational campfire shots. Kids still welcome!!

Please dress as if you were going hiking or backpackpacking--the more red plaid and NCNST insignia, the better! Gear is welcome (backpacks, hiking poles, etc.)

We still need help from coordinators, logisticians, runners and others as well, even if you don't want to be in the video itself.

To sign up (oh, please do!) and for more details go here:

Or call Jill at 616-897-5987, ext. 4.

Thank you for considering this unique way to volunteer and help out the NCTA!
