The West Side Water Power Canal was built in 1866–67 by furniture and lumberbaron, William Thompson Powers.

The talk and walk will be accompanied with support photos. We will explore where once flowed the canal from 1866–1960.

Meet up the Fish Ladder Park, 460 Front Ave NW
FREE Parking in Lot and on street near the Fish Ladder

Walking tour will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Tour will follow the river walk from the Fish Ladder to the Grand Rapids and Indiana (Blue) Bridge and back.

IN CASE OF RAIN

The West Side Water Power Canal Tour is still on even if it's raining. Bring your umbrellas. The entire walk is will be on paved sidewalk. But if it's lightning and thunder I wouldn't want to risk anyones safety. I will reschedule anyone who doesn't make it out on account of weather.

See you at the Fish Ladder Park at 7 PM

Thank you!

Jim Winslow

If this fills up fast I will schedule another meet up rather soon afterwards. Thank you!
