Show and Tell Meeting!

Please come and join us at our first official Meetup!

Currently, three types of Meetups are envisioned for this group:

* Make Meetings, in which we bring our current projects and supplies and work on (“make”) our projects. Think of these like sewing circles. We plan on holding Make Meetings at least once a month, probably at a member's residence or some similar low cost environment where we can spread out materials and have accessible work surfaces. Having a regular meeting with friends helps motivate us to design and work on projects, and provides access to like-minded crafters who can help us overcome obstacles or learn new skills.

* Show and Tell Meetings, in which a member or members will demonstrate a product or technique or show off their latest creation. Please feel free to share your knowledge, skills, or accomplishments with the group!

* Cosplay Meetings, in which we attend an event in costume. There are a number of comic or similarly themed events that take place in the Orange County/Los Angeles area during the year that feature cosplay or costume contests, or we can start arranging our own events!

Today's meetup will be a "Show and Tell Meeting." Rob will be showing various examples of worbla and Instamorph, which are moldable plastics that can be used for creating armor, weapons, and other props. You can learn more about these products at http://www.worbla.com and http://www.instamorph.com If you have costumes or props that you have created, or other things that might be appropriate to share with the group, please feel free to bring them along!

We will also use this meeting to discuss arranging regular Make Meetings, our cosplay ideas and goals, and anything related to the subject of cosplay and the launching of this group.

We look forward to meeting you and working together to create the best Disney cosplay group, along with some amazing costumes! Let's have a lot of fun with this!

Hi Sylvia! No problem, it's a busy time of year. I'm going to wait until January to set the next meeting. I think it will be easier for people then. Looking forward to meeting you and others and creating some amazing costumes!

I figure maybe a couple of hours or so. Kind of a small group (it is just the first Meetup, after all), so we may be able to cover a lot of ground quickly. You can text me or call when you're thinking about heading over and I can let you know what the status is. My number is (714)[masked]
