What we're about

Find help and healing for the pain of losing a significant relationship. That may be divorce, separation or never-married. Christian or non-christian; the pain is all the same. Our Divorce Recovery Group is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

Emotions are influencing you decisions. Another romantic relationship is not the answer-neither is any other method of escape, such as isolation, work, partying or children. Some people “just want to move on”.If you move on, without facing the issues and growing, you are bound for more pain, down the road.

Wednesday night’s meetup group is conducted and attended by people who understand what you are experiencing. It is relaxed, safe, confidential and supportive. We address the REAL issues-anger, humiliation, sex, depression, loneliness, forgiveness, finances, children, etc. And yet, we laugh! When you feel the LEAST like attending, THAT is when you need to be there the MOST!!!

We also provide many opportunities for learning, hanging out and having FUN!Review our Meetups calendar for all of the other kinds of events that you can enjoy. We look forward to getting to know you and hope you will take full advantage of what we have to offer.

Join 50 or more of us for networking and a potluck of breakfast items, followed by your choice of great Bible studies, including Single Parenting. Get there a little early to get first dibs on the goodies. The On Purpose group meets in the skating rink of the Family Life Center (FLC). You will then be directed to the Single Parenting group. The teaching changes throughout the year. Jo Hale leads the study and discussion. Jo is well acquainted with God, His wisdom and single parenting. The curriculum is extremely helpful. We always have great discussion within the group and address anyone's current concerns (your children, working with the child's other parent, etc.). We share our struggles and care for each other. You would be welcome to join us. There is an excellent, caring class for each of your children, according to age or grade in school. The people at the front desk in the FLC can help you get your children to the right class. Come early to get them registered, then grab some breakfast goodies in the skating rink. Questions? Divorce Recovery: support and discussion

North Phoenix Baptist Church

Find help and healing for the pain of losing a significant relationship. That may be divorce, separation or never-married. Christian or non-christian; the pain is all the same. Our Divorce Recovery Group is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Don’t go through this alone. You have so many negative things to deal with; you need some good coming in. We can help. The video starts at 6:30 pm and class ends at 8:00 pm. Come to as many sessions as you can. Come early, if possible. Do NOT let missing some classes or being late keep you from coming to the group. Don't let the number of RSVPs fool you! Twelve or more people attend each week. Many come from other groups and regulars tend not to rsvp. We utilize three video series in this group. First is DivorceCare, followed by Changes That Heal (by Henry Cloud), then the award winning Boundaries (written by Henry Cloud and John Townsend). All are excellent studies. Give us three weeks and you will be looking forward to Wednesday evenings. Our group is safe, confidential and supportive. We address the REAL issues-anger, humiliation, frustration, confusion, sex, depression, loneliness, forgiveness, finances, children, etc. And yet, we find the ability to laugh, because of the love and acceptance between us. The DivorceCare series is conducted and attended by people who understand what you are experiencing. Each session is self-contained so you may join in at any time. When you feel the LEAST like attending, THAT is when you need to be there the MOST! You WILL feel better for having made it to class. At 4:30-6:00 pm, there is a reasonably priced snack bar and a $5 buffet available, downstairs. Grab something and bring it to the group. To "ARRANGE" for free childcare, CALL the church at[masked]. However, there is DC4K (DivorceCareFor Kids) for children, ages 5-12 years old. See the DC4K listing for all the details. All other questions/concerns, please call Jenny Lou at[masked] (NO texts!!!).
