Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds - FREE but get Tickets

Band starts at 10:00 pm
Get Tickets Here (free): http://martinsdowntown.inticketing.com/evinfo.php?eventid=400531

Will probably sell out, so get them fast!!

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds is an seven-piece powerhouse that puts a modern spin on classic soul. The band is led by Arleigh Kincheloe (Sister Sparrow), whose astoundingly powerful voice and sly demeanor make for a spellbinding presence onstage. She is backed by the mighty force of The Dirty Birds, a flock of seven men who masterfully lay down thundering grooves and soaring melodies. While each of the Birds are capable of lighting up the stage with jaw-dropping displays of musicianship, it’s clear they’re all focused on delivering the band’s infectious music as a single entity. Simply put, the band’s live show is explosive.

Check them out: http://www.sistersparrow.com/

“fiery brass- and gospel-infused funk” - LA Times

“…stick-to-your-ribs style rock…” - Wall Street Journal

“Sister Sparrow, Arleigh Kincheloe’s nom de disque, is a soul queen with a voice strong and raspy enough to compete with riffing horns and clipped funk beats.” - Washington Post

“…frontwoman Arleigh Kincheloe has one of the biggest voices in the soul-funk business. Prepare to be blown away.” - Baltimore Sun

“What do you get when you cross Amy Winehouse and Tina Turner with Mick Jagger…?” - Glamour

”Arleigh Kincheloe…presides over eight musicians with smoldering intensity, and her body language is as sly and stirring as her bluesy voice” - New Yorker

OK talking to Martin's now. They are saying that no tickets are free. So this is very interesting now. So everyone that has a printed ticket or a ticket at willcall will have to pay anyway they are saying. I am waiting for a call back from Jason the manager. I am extremely pissed off about this and asked her if she ever heard of bait and switch!!! They haven't heard the last of this from me!

Speaking of Max- GAK (the Terrible) My Son's 90's cover band (not to be confused w my son's Jam Band, Atoadaso) will be playing tomorrow from 7-10 at Fork in the City, then 11-1AM at Blues Barbecue- Free for Al (oblogstory for me)l- Come yell at the band with songs you loved to hate from Svhool Days (or beyond for some of us more experienced;-) And again, my deepest apologies- travesty of tragedies has befallen the Castle von Pritts!

No I did not get tickets for everyone. I would not do that because I never know who is actually coming and who isn't with this group. you have to put your own name on them. I only got tickets for myself. You have to go on the website and put in all your information and get your own tickets! I was just letting everyone know that I had gotten tickets already for myself so that they might want to do the same. Martins can sell out.

Well bummer! When I tried it earlier it looked fine. But now it just says contact Martin's directly. Probably because you have to pick up willcall tickets an hour beforehand. I still don't see where it says they cost $10 tho and the paper also said it was free. I would contact them directly to make sure. If I had known for sure you were coming Eric I would've gotten you a ticket. I just couldn't get a whole group of them without knowing who might come and who wouldn't because you have to put your name, address, phone #, etc. on the tickets.
