Microservices, IBM's Cloud and Service Discovery

We are super excited about this next meet up. The theme of the evening will be Clouds and Crowds - and how to service them. We have three great speakers and talks.

Fresh from his European speaking tour, Ugly Duckling's Pini Reznik will be speaking about Microservices, the future as he sees it, and how Microservices and Docker containers will be the next step towards closing the development loop.

From IBM's BlueMix team we have Michel Splint. Michel's talk, entitled 'Bluemix - Developing in the Cloud, For the Cloud, With the Crowd', will show the key features of BlueMix and explain how it differs from other Clouds.

Finally, we have Tim Nolet from magnetic.io. Tim will be showing how he does service lookup for continuous delivery practices with Docker. Tim will demonstrate microservices running inside containers and how they can be discovered and delivered to 'the world'.

In short, we have three of Holland's leading experts on Clouds and Containers. Does anything else need saying? Oh yes. Free pizza.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the great meetup. We really enjoyed to host it this time. Is it possible for the speakers to share the slides? A few people who attended the meetup were requesting this.

    Thanks!

thanks for the great meetup! Great host and great talks! Really exciting to discuss the future of docker usage in microservices, large fleet deployments and the whole ecosystem!

Is dockercon amsterdam mentioned somewhere else? (volunteering and such?)

    Keep up the good work!

    Important: message from organiser:

"Can you send a message to everyone who will attend the meetup tonight that the meetup starts at 18:45 and that parking is only available before that time. Pizza will be already here when everyone arrives at 18:30. Security will be gone at 19:00, so there will be no-one to open the door if they arrive at 19:00 or later."

Is it possible to park someone's car at Trifork, or do people have to use the paid parking in the neighborhood?

    1 · July 9, 2014

    • Daphne K.

You dont need to reserve a parking spot. You only have to make sure you arrive before 18:45. Pizza will be waiting for you already ;)

Hi all, If you would like to park at Trifork you have to arrive before 18:45. Because the security will leave after that time.
    Thanks,
    Daphne

Hi guys, Please, if something comes up and you can't make it, you must change your RSVP - the waiting list is growing.

    July 8, 2014

  • Jamie D.

Everyone, We have a limit of 80 people and a waiting list.

Please, if you are not coming, change your RSVP to 'no'.

If you want to come and the list is full, get on the waiting list. At least 10% of people will cancel.

    Jamie.

Had lots of fun tonight listening and discussing Docker, Rust, CoreOS and more.

For the people who want to learn Rust (myself included), good news: Steve Klabnik has made available his introduction 'Rust for rubyists' available for free! See http://www.rustforrubyists.com/

    Hi guys,

It would nice to spread the word about this meet-up. Especially regarding the free pizza.

So, if those who are coming or have seen this could please share this page at work and via social media, that would be awesome.

    Cheers, Jamie and Mark.
