Welcome to Downtown Disciples, a progressive faith community, where you will be welcomed, affirmed, loved, inspired, and challenged. We are an LGBTQ+affirming #BlackLivesMatter proclaiming community doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly together by following the way of Jesus and honoring many spiritual paths. We are making a positive impact in downtown Des Moines. We gather for intelligent spiritual discussions, book studies, progressive worship and social gatherings. We embrace science, diversity, social justice, technology and spiritual practices. We volunteer at shelters, serve the hungry, work for peace, speak truth to power, protest, rally, but refuse to judge, condemn, or exclude.
