What we're about
This group is geared towards building your public speaking and leadership skills. The group was started as Smokey's Sensations Toastmaster club by the forestry service, and is now open to the public.
Note: We usually meet at noon on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month via Zoom. Contact the group administrator if you wish you join our virtual meetings.
Smokey’s Sensations (est. 2010) has for the first time in club history, reached President’s Distinguished! Toastmasters International sets 10 goals for all clubs to work towards each club year. Items from paying dues on-time, gaining new members, and of course completing speaking and leadership goals. While the program is self-paced, the Distinguished Club Program allows tracking and then recognition for tireless dedication to self-improvement. There are three different recognition levels, of which, President Distinguished is the highest! Special thanks from those who first chartered our club to our 16 members today, all whom have played a role in the growth and success of this club. Club President, Brenda Quale, shared a heartfelt thank you during our May 6th meeting, sharing the information virtually. Brenda is part of a church choir and referenced that she believed the angels were singing, “I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I know a whole choir of angels started singing the Hallelujah Chorus in my mind when I checked our status today.”
Each member joins Toastmasters for different reasons and recognizes their personal reward for improved speaking, leadership…to be part of a President’s Distinguished Club is something to be proud of and reflects on each member. Please share the news with friends, family and co-workers!
Another special congratulations goes out to our Club Coach, Michael Graney. Being a successful club coach allowed him to complete the last item for his Distinguished Toastmaster Award. An accumulation of many hours working towards various speaking and leadership goals. Congratulations, Michael!
