TERMS OF USE

Terms/Legal:

By joining Downtown Social Mixers, attending our events and/or remaining a member, you agree to not to hold responsible or liable the organizers/event hosts for any injury occurring during our events, whether past or present. The latter mentioned also applies to your property and belongings that happens to be damanged, lost or stolen during our events.. You are attending at your own risk. This waiver will remain valid throughout all username and email address changes and supersedes any and all waivers previously agreed to by you. Failure to read this page will not be considered non-agreement. Any statement of non-agreement by a member gives the site organizer(s) the express right to remove and ban the member from re-joining Downtown Social Mixers. This waiver applies to joint events including, but not limited to, Meetup groups.

THE GOLDEN RULE:

The site organizer(s) have the right to remove and ban any member they wish, at their discretion, without the right of appeal. This option can be exercised at any time, without prior warning. (This rule MAY be liberally applied to any members believed to not be committed to the group, and/or may not have the best interests of other members, or the organizers, in mind).

How We Roll:

Out of respect for members' enjoyment of events, we require that all attendees follow the directions of the event organizer of any event they attend. Failure to do so usually results in confusion/disruption and a different outcome than what was intended. For that reason, anyone disrupting an event by ignoring the directions given by the event organizer may be removed from the group without recourse. If the offender's behaviour was especially disrespectful, a ban on rejoining may be applied.

If a meetup member becomes offensive, harasses or pesters another meetup member/guest verbally, physically or uses the group as an internet dating service, business or personal prospecting, we'll remove them. As mature adult members you are responsible for your own behavior....this means responsible drinking and if you are not able to drive, take public transit/cab or arrange a designated driver.

Non Pressure/No Solicitation: This is a no pressure group. Members are here to make friends/acquaintences with others who want to enjoy Toronto social activities. They are not attending to be solicited to your business or string of sex partners. There is zero tolerance for bullying or oppressive behaviour. Respecting the time, space and attention of any member of the group will be adhered to.

Participation:

Attending an event is optional and voluntary. There is NO need to RSVP "Not Going". However, if you do RSVP "Yes" then please ensure that you (and your invited guests if any) are able to attend. If you need to cancel you MUST email the event organizer within 24 hours (1 day) of the event AND change your 'Going' status to 'Not Going'. This will allow members on any waiting list' an option of attending. If you do not contact the event organizer you will be tagged as a no-show.

Last minute bail-outs on "guestlist/reservation list" events will not be tolerated, RSVPing out hours or minutes before an event will be considered a no-show.

People who sign up for an event with fraudulent information, a fake name, age, address and phone number or who are not in the intended demographic of an event may also be removed from the group, event or event list by the site/event organizer at anytime.

If you require special convenience or access at venues used for events, we unfortunately can not assume responsibility. To ensure your safety and pleasure, we ask that you call the venue yourself to verify the status of their facilities. For example, some bars/pubs may claim to be wheelchair accessible, but the washroom may be located in the basement, etc.

Depending on information you obtain from the venue(s), you may want to avoid events which may present difficulty for you. The event organizer may be unable to cater to individual requests. We hope that you understand.

No-Show Policy

If any member has THREE no-shows to any 'guestlist/reservation list' events, you will be removed from the group. No questions asked.

Please value and respect each other's time as you would like yours to be respected. Site/Event organizers' volunteer their time to make these events possible for our group!!!

Venue and Event Fees/Costs

If an event requires a fee (either charged by the venue or site/event organizer) to attend or participate at a event, it is your obligation to pay either before or at the time of the event. There will be no credit nor promise to pay given to any member or guest of any member. If you don't pay.... you don't play, its that simple.

Anytime during an event regardless of venue, you will be required to pay for any food, beverages or entertainment ordered by you and your invited guests. The site/event organizers or event hosts are not obligated to provide any free or complimentary food, beverage or entertianment nor are they obligated to pay in your behalf any venue that charges for food, beverages or entertainment to you and your invited guests.

If you pre-pay for an event and fail to attend, there will be no refund. Full or partial refunds can only be offered if you change your RSVP before the deadline set by the site/event organizer.

If you miss the pre-pay deadline and still show up at the event, you run the risk of someone else having gotten your spot. In that case, you may not be able to participate, even if you have money in hand. This rule is more likely to be enforced when there are people on the waiting list.

If you fail to show up for an event where money has been spent on your behalf, then you will be responsible for making that payment to the event/site organizer. The amount due will be added to your member name until you make the payment. You will be labeled as a no-show.

Photographic Images:

In many of our events they maybe video or still photography to capture the event, people and/or the participants. We may tag you in them. This material may be posted to meetup site for others to see. If you are in one of these pictures and videos and don't want your images shown, please contact the original poster and organizer for removal.

Event Hosts/Organizers:

If you like to host/organize an event please contact the site organizer(s) explaining the date, venue and the details of the event itself. In principle, we are trying to pick events that are exciting and diverse in nature and there will be NO FINANCIAL GAIN TO THE HOSTS OR EVENT ORGANIZERS. Any meetup fees will be identified and established by the meetup site organizer only. The meetup site organizer(s) reserve the right to charge a fee to any event.

At this time no meetup fees will be charged for meetup events.

Any external meetup organizer/event organizers that would like to share an event with this meetup group must contact the Downtown Social Mixer Site Organizer for further consideration.

Removal From The Group:

Any member who harasses the organizers, hosts, event attendees and the management or employees of a
venue or, makes public remarks on the meetup site or at an event that are derogatory, mean or complaining to the point that they don't belong in the group will be removed from the group. One membership per person only. Multiple accounts are not permitted.

Members with concerns or complaints should email them privately to the site organizer.

The site organizer(s) retain the right to adjust the rules at any time without prior notice.

**By joining and/or remaining in Downtown Social Mixer Group and participating in any of our events, you acknowledge and accept the following:

"I hereby release and waive any and all civil or criminal liability litigation claims or demands against Downtown Social Mixer Group (Organizers and/or Event Organizers), which may arise out of any injury, damage or loss to me and my guests due to my/our involvement in any event and or group related activity.

"I also acknowledge, that I, as a legal adult, am solely responsible for my safety and behaviour during any and all Meetup events or group related activities."

"I will not drink and drive! I will ensure to make alternative arrangements and be responsible enough not to operate a motorized vehicle if I feel I've exceeded the legal drinking limit when leaving any and all Downtown Social Mixer Group Meetup events".
