Awaken Your Inner DRAGON!! Dragon boat racing is the fastest growing water sport activity in the world today. Over 2,000 people world-wide participate in dragon boat festivals with participants as old as 85 and as young as 14 years of age participate in dragon boating. Dragon boat racing is increasingly popular as a component in corporate team building retreats, and charitable fundraising events, particularly promoting breast cancer awareness and we are excited to bring you this amazing team sport! Now working with youth to encourage them in the sport as well. Ages 8 and up. www.dragonboatnv.com
Learn the basics of Dragon Boating with your children (8 years and up). You can join your child on the boat or watch from the shore. But please let us know on the RSVP if you will want to paddle as well. This is a fun activity for all ages and a great way to get your children into a fun new sport. Please arrive no later than 7:50 to get geared up.
We are having an open paddle practice. Beginners and experienced paddlers are welcome. Please plan to be at the grass field (by the floating stage) 20 minutes before practice to pick up equipment and get instructions. If you don't have a paddle or life vest, one will be provided.
The cost to paddle is $10.00. Please bring exact cash, check or money order to participate. Please BRING WATER!! This is a great overall work out. We are in a boat on the water, you might get wet. So please dress accordingly, no jeans. Other helpful items: hat, sun block, and sun glasses
The boat will only hold 18 paddlers. So please make sure if you RSVP you attend or be sure to cancel your RSVP right away. Canceling minutes before the event could leave others literally up the creek without (enough) paddlers. So please be courteous.
Parking is available at the Montelago Village parking garage. Then walk to the docks.
No secure storage of items, so please bring as little down with you as possible.
