  • US Navy 33rd Bay Bridge Run/Walk

    Hilton San Diego Bayfront Garage

I really like this event! I first attended this event with Cynthia and Patty in 2017. The Coronado Bridge is officially closed on race day, allowing the runners/walkers to cross the bridge and end in a celebration at Tidelands Park! Once there, you are treated like a queen! There are food booths, music, you get a medal and a T-shirt and all kinds of free goodies! After that, you take a ferry across the bay back to the starting line! Along the way, you are serenaded at every mile (4 miles total) by a variety of musicians and bands (we were serenaded by a Navy Band, a Mariachi band and I can't remember what else!) If you would like to join me, please go to the website (runsignup.com/Race/CA/Coronado/NavysBayBridgeRun) to pay for race entry. The cost for senior participants is $43. We will be parking at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel, so be prepared to chip in for parking and gas!

  • BOOK CLUB

    American Village

Book: The Woman in the Window - Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble—and its shocking secrets are laid bare. What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems. June 12 - Where the Crawdads Sing Jun

  • Carlsbad Village Faire

    Village Faire

The Village Faire features over 850 unique vendors with a little of everything: arts & crafts, antiques, unique clothing, items from around the world, and more. Children’s rides, an international food center, and an old-fashioned pancake breakfast guarantee that you’ll find fun for the whole family! Parking for this very popular event is limited, so visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary shuttles that run to and from the faire every 15 minutes. The shuttle pick-up locations are at the northwest corner of Sears at Shoppes at Carlsbad Plaza Camino Real (Highway 78 and Jefferson). If you are interested in carpooling, please send me a message. Dress in layers: it can get really hot out there! There are tons of vendors, so come prepared to shop! Lunch is on your own! I love this faire and have always found lots of stuff to buy!

  • Santa Rosa Plateau-walk to the Adobes!

    Needs a location

Join me for a walk at one of my favorite places: the Santa Rosa Plateau! I will be walking along this trail to the Adobes and back. The trail is approximately 4 miles (2 up and 2 back) and is generally flat. We'll leave Hemet at 7 am, arriving at the Plateau by 8 am, then walking along the trail. We'll stop for breakfast (or brunch) in Old Town (maybe the E.A.T. marketplace! Yum!) Bring plenty of water and a change of shoes (if you need to)!
