For music lovers

I thought I'd begin scheduling some of the great nearby free or inexpensive musical going on this summer and into fall, plus tell you about a few other things coming up that might be fun Dragonfly events.

Beaumont hosts a free concert night every Wed beginning July 4th through the summer.  For info go to:  http://www.ci.beaumont.ca.us/DocumentCenter/Home/View/14838

Some of the wineries in Temecula have free music on Friday and Sat nights. For more info, http://www.temeculawines.org/events/wine-country-calendar.php   Also, on that same site, you can print off two-for-one tasting coupons.

Also in Temecula on Friday nights beginning at 6 in old town, there is free music and other things going on that look like fun.  I think this is called Hot Summer Nights.

In Hemet go to www.theDVAC.org to find out about free or inexpensive events in Hemet.  My husband I go to the 3rd Sunday musical events in the gallery on the corner of Sanderson and Esplanade.  There is a $20 cost, but you get two glasses of really good wine or champagne, and "small plate" appetizers, sometimes with a little dessert, and great live music.  Go early and see the exhibits.  It's a lovely venue and well worth the $20.

In September the Idyllwild Jazz festival is a "must go" if you enjoy live music.  It's not inexpensive, but it worth saving money for.  I think it's $60 for one day of the festival, but the music is outstanding.  Major musical acts show up for this.

If any of these events float your boat, let's get some on the Dragonfly calendar.  Let me know, or just go in and schedule something.  You all have access to the calendar now.
