20 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO
What many of us once thought was merely a distant possibility has become a chilling reality – Donald Trump has officially been elected the president of the United States of America. Though many will use this loss as an opportunity to point fingers and assign blame, the most effective course we can take moving forward is to build a concerted, well-organized, and united opposition to Trump and his cohorts over the next 4 years. But for this work to bear fruit, we must begin immediately and with a resolve to overcome our own differences to defeat the very real neo-fascism taking root in the United States as we speak.
It is therefore necessary for progressive and moderate organizations and individuals in Colorado Springs to come together to devise the most effective ways of combating Trump and to develop viable alternatives to his policies.
This work will not be easy. This work will not be without risk. But if progressives and moderates in Colorado Springs finally come together to devise a consistent, unified strategy to improve the region, there is nothing we can’t do together.
Please join Unite Colorado Springs for a community forum and discussion on ways to build a progressive opposition with a real chance at electoral success in upcoming elections.
We will be meeting December 3rd, at 12pm in the Penrose Library in the Carnegie Reading room.
This is being organized by Ryan James Berry through the Facebook page Unite Colorado Springs
