Meetings end when all are ready to leave. Tonight's discussion is expected to be on: Ritual Review - AD Rev. Kirk reminds us that there is no ritual so perfect that it can't be improved upon and no ritual so awful that some lesson can't be learned from it. Tonight we will discuss the previous week's ritual. How did it go? What insights or experiences would folks like to share about it? How might we improve for the next ritual? Book Review - ADF encourages all druids to read, read, read. This is the best way to understand and build a foundation for our understandings and experiences. Tonight we will relate which books we are each working on, whether they are on the Dedicant's reading list or not. We will discuss our progress since the last book review meeting, as well as challenges the book has presented us. These discussions will assist those who are pursuing the Dedicant's Path to complete their reports and, for the rest of us, it will encourage us to continue to learn.

  • High Day Ritual

    Larrea Tridentata Grove, ADF

As our ancestors once did, so we do today and so may our children do in the future... ... Please arrive on time so that we may provide a pre-ritual briefing to everyone and still start ritual no later than 7:30pm. As always, our ritual will be held outdoors. Please dress accordingly! Information about our ritual style can be found at: About Our Ritual Style (http://www.meetup.com/Druids-in-Las-Vegas/pages/About_Our_Ritual_Style/) More information about our grove can be found at: Larrea Tridentata Protogrove, ADF (http://www.larrea-adf.org) ** This is a public ritual and all are welcome. ** Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who assumes responsibility for their charge's actions. We are currently unable to provide childcare, so if your child is unable or uninterested in being part of the service, it may be better to leave them home for the sake of your own experience as well as those around you. While attendance is free and open to everyone, rituals do cost money to perform. All donations are gratefully accepted and are tax deductible through the charter from our parent organization, Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF) [a 501(c)3 charitable religious org]. All attendees are welcome to participate in the ritual as much or as little as they like; incense, oil and other items are provided to use for offerings. If you'd like to bring something of your own to offer, the Deities and Ancestors, in general, appreciate the sweet smells of incense as well as alcohol and silver objects. The nature spirits love edible seeds. All of our Kindred appreciate handmade goods and heartfelt poems and songs. All offerings are given to the Kindreds, taking them permanently out of human use (burned or otherwise eliminated/destroyed).

    Larrea Tridentata Grove, ADF

Hail to the Joy-Bringer, the Gift-Giver, the Toy-Maker! Santa is one of America's most recognizable - perhaps the most powerful in His season - deities in our pantheon. This is a family-friendly indoor ritual event that combines an ADF-style druid ritual with a modified version of the so-called "white elephant" gift exchange. Bring your Santa hat and some cookies, and gather with us near the fireplace as we call to that Jolly Old Elf. If you would like to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped present of $15-20 value. There is no obligation to participate in this part of our event. ... Dinner tonight: We have switched to a directed pot luck-style dinner for our craft nights.
