We’ll view “Occupy Love”, an inspiring documentary by Velcrow Ripper, which celebrates how people world-wide have come out to protest social and economic inequality, greed, corruption, the undue influence of large multi-national corporations on government, financial and ecological crisis. The film features scenes from Occupy Wall Street, protests against the Keystone XL Pipeline, the Egyptian Arab Spring protests, Spain’s anti-austerity indignant protests, and beyond. The film includes interviews with key visionaries about alternative systems of economics, sustainability, and empathy. Get more information and watch the trailer at http://occupylove.org/.
The screening and discussion is co-sponsored by Occupy Naperville, http://occupynaperville.org/, who protest and hold general assembly meetings every Saturday. For this special Just Views program, we welcome people who are involved in or are considering participating in the Occupy Movement and/or other local activism (e.g., Move to Amend, Sierra Club, sustainability groups, labor, and immigration). Join us in our efforts to raise awareness, speak truth to power and wealth, in non-violent pursuit of social justice and a viable, sustainable future.
