No jokes, no yoga mats - at Dubai Pop-up Laughter Club we laugh for no reason whatsoever.

Our pop-up sessions are based on Positive Psychology interventions and Laughter Yoga exercises that combine unconditional laughter (no jokes) with breathing exercises from Yoga (no yoga kit).

WHY SHOULD I COME?
Laughter Club is a fun way to reduce stress, boost resilience and unleash creativity. Oh, and it is good exercise too!

DO I NEED TO BE HAPPY OR FUNNY?
No, because these exercises are about fake laughter. So it doesn't matter if you are happy or not. As long as you can say "hahaha", you're fine.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Just yourself and an open mind. All exercises can be done in your normal clothes and no equipment or gear is needed.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
We do a little warm-up and stretches, then we launch into the laughter exercises and finish with a short meditation.
All exercises are done standing (but can be done seated, let the instructor know), meditation can be done seated or lying down.

WHERE DO YOU MEET?
The Pop-up Laughter Club has moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic – that means you can join us from anywhere in the world!

WHEN DO YOU MEET?
The hint is in the name - events will pop up! Check our events section or join the group so you don't miss the next Dubai Pop-up Laughter Club meeting.

HOW DO I JOIN A SESSION?
Use the ticket link in the event posting to register – 2 hours before the session, you receive the login details via e-mail.
In the interest of protecting everyone’s privacy, please do NOT share the login details. Anyone who is not registered or who is attempting to record or disrupt the meeting will be removed from the session.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?
Yes, the more the merrier! But they need to get their own ticket as we will only give access to those who have registered with us to protect participants.

CAN ANYBODY DO THESE EXERCISES?
Basically, yes - BUT: This is physical exercise and there are times when you should NOT participate or use great caution. For example:
- if you have a cough or cold, you should not do these heavy breathing exercises
- if you have a back ache or injury,
- if you have a heart condition etc.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
We will ask everyone to keep their cameras and microphones on during the session. Sessions will be recorded. This is to help us see if someone is struggling in any way and assist that person or to identify anyone who is disrupting the meeting.
By joining the meeting, you give permission to record the meeting. The recording will not be shared. However, we will take a picture in gallery view from the session to share on our website and social media pages.

DO I NEED TO PAY TO ATTEND?
Running the club creates cost, but we keep them to a minimum. Your first session is on us, so join us for a free trial! After that we charge ONLY 5AED per session, but to keep the hassle of signing up and paying to a minimum, we created a 6-month membership at only 130AED which will give you access to every Pop-up Laughter Club session for the next 6 months PLUS our monthly newsletter and more goodies to come!
