The Dublin Human Givens Centre is based in Dun Laoghaire and was set up in 2012. The human givens framework offers a revolutionary new organising idea derived from the latest scientific understandings from neurobiology and psychology, ancient wisdom and original new insights. It is the first ever bio-psycho-social model of psychotherapy. It is solution focused short term therapy with the aim of helping people feel better as quickly as possible.

We run mental health workshops in the centre for individuals to work towards looking after their own emotional well-being. We have open days for the public to come and see the centre, talk to a therapist and attend a lunchtime talk. Every Monday morning in the centre we have a mindfulness meditation which is a drop in but limited to 10 people.

We offer a sliding scale for all services in the centre and are open for counselling sessions 7 days a week.

Start your week the Mindful way. Mindfulness meditation has numerous benefits some of which include improved focus and performance, regulates emotions and helps improve sleep. The brain is a muscle and like all muscles needs exercise, mindfulness is exercise for the brain. The more you practice the more it becomes part of your routine and helping you deal with the day to day stresses of life. This drop in class every Monday at 9.30am is suitable for beginners and aims at introducing you to the benefits. Limited to 10 people so please RSVP. No experience needed. First class free, subsequent classes €10 or €50 for 6.

Lunchtime meditation class to rebalance and refocus. Spend thirty minutes each Tuesday lunchtime to relax your mind and connect with your breathe. Research has shown that with practice we have the ability to change our brain - the neuroplasticity of the brain. Mindfulness Meditation can help us change our thinking, change our brain and help us focus on what we want rather than what we don’t want. Drop in classes €5 first class free €50 for 12 classes. Suitable for beginners.
