Our guest speaker this month will be Kishore Yekkanti@kishoreyekkanti from CurrencyFair.


Speaker bio: 

Kishore Yekkanti is a polyglot full stack developer who loves to work across different technologies. Having worked for more than 10 years across different technologies with big fat MNC's to NGO's in Africa, he was bitten by the startup bug almost 3 years ago and has ever since not looked back. Kishore brings to the table a strong and deep technical expertise combined with consulting and product management skills. He is passionate about Open Source software and core contributor to many Humanitarian open source projects. You can see him breathing "eliminate waste" in software development process. Have first hand experience with extreme programming and agile methodologies and practiced Test driven development, pair programming, test automation, Continuous integration, Continuous delivery, release management.

Talk Outline:

Over last half decade, the unprecedented popularity of Microservices created significant behavioural changes for the developers. It varied from organisations embracing Programmers Anarchy to people quitting their full time jobs to build their own software. This talk will walk through this paradigm shift on how microservices are paving the path to make the software engineers a premium again.

Talk Title: SWIMing in Kubernetes with Seneca

Talk Outline: 

Over the last few months, SWIM networks became very popular as well as clustering technologies like Docker Swarm or Kubernetes. Now the question is… how do they work together? In this talk David will show us how to create a fault tolerant, distributed and automatic service discovery mechanism on Kubernetes with seneca-mesh.

    Hey all, for anyone looking for directions to Workday, we're at King's Building, May Lane [off Church Street], Dublin 7.

    The building is at the back of the Jameson Distillery off Smithfield Square, and pretty easy to get to

    Bus - Area is served by a variety of bus routes stopping on the quays, or on Church or King's Street.

    Luas - Red Line stop at Smithfield

    Train - Least accessible of the 3, Heuston Station is about 10-15 minute walk form the builiding.
