Dublin MongoDB User Group 2012 Meetup #1

First, thanks to the folks at Engine Yard ( for offering to host the first MongoDB User Group in Dublin.

In addition to introducing ourselves and getting things started we have lined up 3 quick talks/presentations.

Scrazzl will be presenting at this first Meetup, their talk is titled:

Scrazzl & MongoDB - Analysing Life Sciences

"A detailed look at how Scrazzl has used MongoDB to create an analytics platform, tracking historical, and live analytics within scientific research publications."

Additionally, the guys from will be giving a talk about their use of MongoDB, MongoHQ and MongoMapper

Rounding out the talks, Adam Comerford will be giving a presentation on "Running MongoDB on EC2 - Caveats, Tips, Tricks", thanks to the votes from the poll (which is now closed)

See you all there!

P.S. Yes, there will be swag to be had as well as some drinks and pizza :)

I am biased since I am the organiser, but I think it all went really well - great to see so many people in Dublin interested and to get the community off to such a great start

I found this first meetup very interesting. Very good presenters and already over 50 people attending! I have attended other meetups in Europe and for a first one that was a very good one!

Great talks and great atmosphere, well done to all the speakers as lovely mix of MongoDB in production and then followed up by how you could use MongoDB via EC2.

Questions were informed and well thought through. Overall, the meetup was very good from my point of view.

I've been asked about the 80 slot limit, don't worry, there isn't really a limit (beyond how many we can fit in the door). I just picked an upper limit at random really, so no need to worry :)
