GHOST RIVER kayaking or canoeing
After breakfast at camp on Saturday, we will be driving (45 minutes) to go kayaking/canoeing on the Ghost River section of the Wolf River. See link for a video of what to expect (https://youtu.be/tvYrSzk1wd4). This is a class 1 river which is mostly calm water with a nice current. The 9 mile river trip will be lead by one of our brothers, Nick (thanks Nick!!), who is an experienced kayaker and has done this river many times. We will be starting before 10 am and taking out at the Bateman Bridge. The river takes about 3 to 5 hours to complete. There is a section of this river that contains a lake where there is no current - that section takes about 45 minutes to cross.
- No experience is needed for this trip.
- You will have to provide your own kayak or canoe and the gear needed to paddle this river. There is an outfitter who rents kayaks ($40) and canoes (2 person for $60) at the Bateman Bridge put out (shuttle bus will takes us to the put in). You can reach them at ghostriverrentals.com. May is a busy month for rentals so reserve yours as early as possible.
- We do recommend appropriate clothing (swimsuit, hat and water shoes (not sandals).
- We will be stopping for lunch and recommend putting your lunch in a waterproof container.
- Please also pack plenty of water for this day trip.
- The river is mostly shaded but bring sunscreen just in case it might be needed.
Cost: Kayak or canoe rental ($40-$60)

After the Ghost River, we will return to camp for dinner and relaxation, departing for home by noon on Sunday.
