For Open Data Day, The Dunedin Open Data group is holding an open data tutorial writing event. The goal is to, over the course of the afternoon, create some guides on how to use sources of open data.
-If you are skilled at data analysis you can provide code.
-If you are good at words you can provide description.
-If you are a novice at working with data you can provide quality control from the perspective of a user of the tutorial.
Together we can create and publish some tutorials, and be recognised for doing so.
Beginning with a discussion of sources of open data and what we might like to do with them, the plan is to form an appropriate number of teams that can create a tutorial in a few hours. At the end of the afternoon, completed tutorials can be added to the https://github.com/data-govt-nz/NZdataExamples site to share with others and acknowledge the authors' work.
