What we're about

A group for those into or curious about Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop role playing games (TTRPGs).

D&D 5th edition is a great version to jump into for first timers, and is easy to get to grips with. Come and join us for a lot of laughs, and maybe slay an evil beast or two!

I've just posted a new campaign with space for newcomers but currently undecided on the setting. See the post for more details.

About Me:

I'm a regular Dungeon Master (DM) for 2 - soon to be 3(!) - campaigns, and love TTRPGs with a passion. I am not a 'neckbeard', 'rules-nazi', or any other kind of dictator-like DM and much prefer the 'Rule of Cool', over the 'Letter of the Law'. If it's not breaking the mechanics of the game and seems like something a character would do, I'm normally happy to entertain it.

Yes, to some degree this allows me to fudge rules a bit... but it keeps the game flowing, and I challenge anyone else to have a Matthew Mercer level understanding of the game. (If you don't know who he is, that's to my benefit(!), but you can see him in action on the Critical Role Twitch/YouTube/podcasts - he is a god among DMs.)

I promise I will never lie or cheat on rules or any dice roll, and I expect the same of my players. If anyone is found to be 'fudging their rolls' - i.e. manipulating stats or rules deliberately - they will be asked to stop, and if found a second time, asked to leave. It's a game, and other people are having fun too so don't spoil it for them!

On the down-side, this does mean that *occasionally* a character might die. It's part of the game, and I don't apologise for this - without peril, it's not a real adventure! I do my best to make all encounters achievable (and survivable!), but sometimes the dice are cruel and fickle beasts... Rest assured though, if there is no way to resurrect them, we will roll up a new character together, and reintegrate them back into the group as soon as possible, with new and exciting possibilities!

Finally, and it saddens me that this seems necessary, EVERYONE is welcome at my table, regardless of Gender, LGBTQ+, race, creed, disability, or anything else. If anyone has an issue with this, it isn't the right table for them. I hope everyone feels comfortable here and I won't allow any form of bullying.

D&D 5e Campaign - The Adventure continues

The geese and fountain

I'm afraid this campaign is now full and closed to new players. Once things have settled I'll see if there's interest and/or time for another, so feel free to send expressions of interest though!

No Damned Tortles! (Ongoing Campaign)

The geese and fountain

Welcome adventurers... This is an ongoing campaign which has started at level 3 and mostly experienced players. If you are interested in joining, please message me first and I'll let you know if there's any space at the table. (Regulars often don't sign up on here so the numbers can be misleading!) SETTING: Core D&D - this is the standard pulp/popular-fantasy environment with Elves, Dwarves, Orcs etc. Loosely Tolkien inspired, but with more magic and large numbers of monsters etc. Think wizards, barbarians, and Conan style adventurers who are heroes of their own story. It's akin to Skyrim, World of Warcraft, or the Neverwinter computer games/MMOs. This is taking place in a homebrew world though as it provides a little intrigue and variation!
