Every week, on Saturday, we come together with the Dutch Language Cafe. We do something different every week. In the past, we went bowling, to the beach, to an arcade hall, to the city center, visiting historic sites, and so on. The idea is to do a fun activity together, talk Dutch, and get to know each other and the city better! The activity is different every week, so be sure to check the MeetUp page regularly!
This Saturday, we are going to the world famous Gay Pride in Amsterdam! The Gay Pride is a yearly party celebrating LGBTQ. It draws hundreds of thousands of people, there are lots of parties and music, and of course, there is the Canal Parade, with lots of show and party boats going through the canals! Also, for those that you don't know, you don't have to be gay to go there, many straight people go there! It's a part of Dutch culture you can't miss.
We gather at Anna&Co. The gather there at 12:00 and we walk to the train station at 12:30. Be on time! We take the 11:41 train from train station The Hague NOI (track 4). We will arrive in Amsterdam around 13:00 and then walk to the canals to watch the Canal Parade. We will see how long we will stay, the parties will last for a long time :). You can wear whatever you want, normal clothes, party clothes, pink stuff, rainbows, whatever you feel like :).
During the event, we talk Dutch only, but we focus on creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere, where everybody feels comfortable and safe. Beginners are welcome too! If you're in doubt, just come and see how it goes :).
