• English Language Café with games!

Anna en Co (SoZa ingang Noord)

    €4.00

Hi! The idea of the Monday is to practice different languages. This week, you can practice English! Next week Spanish, after that Arabic, and so on. Normally at the Dutch Language Cafe we practice Dutch, but today we switch roles! I think it's nice to put ourselves into each others' shoes. During the evening we will split in groups at different levels, play games, and talk English! We try to make sure there is a native English speaker in every group, so that you can really improve your English, even if you already can speak it reasonably well. Are you a native English speaker? You are very welcome! It's really fun, you'll meet new people, and have a chance to help others! Native English speakers enter for free as an appreciation for their help. The event is at Anna & Co, Wilhelmina van Pruisenweg 55. The entrance is hard to find, this picture helps: www.dutchlanguagecafe.com/location. The door is open from 19:15, at 19:30 we start the event (try to be on time). We kindly ask for a contribution of 4 euro's from Arabic learners. This helps cover the costs (rent, drinks, games and so on). You can pay with PIN. You get free drinks and snacks! Want to know more about the Dutch Language Café? Look here: www.dutchlanguagecafe.com. We have different events, courses, and workshops! See you there!

  • Dutch Language Café Saturday Social [this week: bouldering!]

Hi guys! Every week, on Saturday, we come together with the Dutch Language Café. We do something different every week. In the past, we went bowling, to the beach, to an arcade hall, to the city center, visiting historic sites, and so on. The idea is to do a fun activity together, talk Dutch, and get to know each other and the city better! The activity is different every week, so be sure to check the MeetUp page regularly! This week, let's go bouldering! Bouldering is rock-climbing, but without ropes and you climb only a few meters up and then jump down. We go bouldering at 'Beest Boulders', in The Globe (near HS). It costs 11 euro, plus 4 euro to rent climbing shoes. Afterwards, we can grab some dinner in the city center for those who want. During the event, we talk Dutch only, but we focus on creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere, where everybody feels comfortable and safe. Beginners are welcome too! If you're in doubt, just come and see how it goes :). If you can't find us, call me on[masked]. Want to know more about the language cafe? Check out our website! www.dutchlanguagecafe.com. • Language Exchange! [practice Dutch, English, Spanish, Arabic, and more!]

Anna en Co (SoZa ingang Noord)

    €4.00

Hello! Every week, on Monday, we host a language exchange. On this night, you can practice multiple languages! We make a table for each language. We make sure there is at least one native at each table. Then you get to talk in that language! We have many games in different languages, so you always have something to talk about. We never know beforehand who shows up, so it's hard to guarantee which languages will be spoken. However, there almost certainly will be a Dutch, English, Spanish and Arabic table. Other languages are less common, so we have to see at the evening itself if we can make a table in that language. The best way to make sure you can practice the language you want is to come as a duo! For example, if you're Spanish and want to practice Dutch, bring someone that is Dutch and wants to practice Spanish! To help you find a language exchange partner you can fill out this form: https://forms.gle/wBPmpPEHF4Rr1dG67/. We will connect you to people matching your preferences! The event will follow the 'Dutch Language Cafe' method, which means that we generally try to avoid English. The main language spoken will be Dutch (besides from the languages at the tables of course). Don't worry if your Dutch isn't very good though, we make sure there is a relaxed, informal atmosphere, where everybody feels comfortable and safe! The entrance fee is 4 euro. In return you get free drinks and access to all the cool stuff we have at the language café! You can pay with PIN or with the exact amount in cash. Please note that the entrance is hard to find. Follow signs for 'SoZa ingang noord'. Here is a picture of the entrance: https://dutchlanguagecafe.com/location/. If you get lost, call me on[masked]. See you there!
