Dying Kingdoms July Camper Game

Dying Kingdoms Camper Game. Pre-reg price is to PC $50. Registration is open till a week before game. If you do not pre-reg, onsite price is $60. NPC price is $10, free if you come with a group of 3 or more. If you want to pay for the NPC price, you can just pay onsite, you don't have to pay online. There is no pre-reg price difference.

Directions: From the Los Angeles basin side of the San Gabriel Mountains: drive to La Canada via the I-210 (Foothill Freeway) to the State Highway 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) exit. Turn north towards the mountains. Stay on State Highway 2 for 25.6 miles to the lower Chilao Road (Forest Service Road 3N21); turn left onto lower Chilao Road. Follow signs for Meadow Group Camp Ground; The first 2 forks in the road head right, the 3rd fork head left. Gate will be on your left. If you get to the fire station you have passed it.  If it's locked, use the combination to open the gate. Gate code is 7196 on the combination lock. The gate is right by NPC camp so likely we're not going to keep locking it while folks are still arriving

The co-ordinates for Google maps are :

[masked], [masked]

This is slightly different than what on the Meadow Group Campground page, please use these as they more accurate for the site we are using

IC Blurb:

High King Atrius is dead! Circadia is conquered! The Council of Ephors held hostage to ensure their compliance. The Armies of the West rally to liberate the people of Circadia.

While Bechan and Illumin forces secure a beachhead at Zayknthos, an elite cadre meet in Summerholt to launch a chirurgical strike behind enemy lines. Will the Ebony Claw repel the Armies of the West? Will the Sauren Empress see through our heroes cunning plan? Or will the strike teams accomplish their missions before Sauren reinforcements arrive?

Only time will tell...

Hi gang! Here's an important cross-post from our Facebook group regarding DOWNTIMES! With the downtime deadline this Saturday (7/23) and our web forms still in flux, we're implementing a TEMPORARY change in policy.

Complex DT will still be due by July 23. To submit a Complex DT, email the Story Team and use the following subject line, "July 2016 DT: [Your Character Name Here]". Failure to use the correct subject line may result in a loss of your DT. If you have already submitted a Complex DT via the online form, RESUMBIT it via email.

Second, the Simple DT deadline will be extended one week until Saturday, July 30. Do NOT email Simple DTs. Our hope is that the web form issues will be resolve soon and that you will be able to make use of them for the Simple DT submissions. If the issues take longer than expected to resolve, we'll consider other options.

This was my first larp experience ever, and I'm glad I attended! Terrain was a bit rough at the campground, but I really enjoyed the fact that we had so much space and such a quiet area. Everyone was so kind and inviting and I had tons of fun. Final battle on Saturday got a bit too chaotic and dicey for my tastes, but everything else was awesome. I will be attending future campers!

It's past the deadline to pre-reg, but folks can still pay on site. Especially if you are NPCing and bringing friends - come on down

The deadline is to get the discount - because it's easier on the DK pocket book if folks prepay

Hello everyone, I'm new to LARPing, never done it before, although I've always wanted to. I'm considering coming to this event, and I was just wondering what I should do. I know the general recomendation is starting as an NPC and thats probably best, but I'm unsure what I should wear or what I should bring to my first event. Would black jeans and a black t-shirt be ok? Or should I try and find something less modern?

    • Joel

Hi Brent! Welcome to Dying Kingdoms! I'm Joel, one of the storytellers for DK. Black jeans and a black t-shirt will definitely work for an NPC, although this site can get hot in the middle of summer, so you may want to reconsider swapping out the jeans for something a little more comfortable (if you think that could be an issue). We prefer our NPCs to dress all in black, but we prefer that you avoid things like heat stroke even more :-) We have a fairly extensive camping checklist that I encourage you to review on our website (see link at the end of this comment). A lot of the character-specific items won't be applicable to you, but the general camping recommendations are useful. If you have any other questions, feel free to check in with our community on our Facebook page or email the Story Team at [masked]. I look forward to meeting you at the game! http://larp.dyingking...

I'm considering coming, but I need to know what the rules for first timers is. Should I help as an NPC, or jump on in with a freshly rolled character?

    June 15

    • David P

Thanks. I kind of figured that that would be the case. Turns out that I forgot that weekend is busy with family, so I won't be able to make it anyway. For the future though, what are the NPC requirements? I'm assuming there would be something provided to designate non-human participants like half-masks or something. I'd just come in generic peasant clothes when I AM able to join. Also, I'd like to find out if there is any desire to have aerial drone footage shot at these weekends. It'd be at an observation altitude that wouldn't cause a noisy immersion breaking coverage. It'd be something I'd like to do since Dying Kingdoms has very little video promotional material out there.

As an NPC we just ask that you have a basic black outfit to wear underneath the role specific costuming we provide. You're also very welcome to bring peasant clothes or other personal costume pieces you may have. Armor and things that are typically personalized in size are particularly good to bring along, because those are the things we’re least able to provide.

While we appreciate your offer to shoot drone footage, DK has a no filming policy for a variety of reasons. You’re welcome to provide more details about what drone footage would entail to the Story Team at [masked], but it’s unlikely we would be able to approve something like that.

I use a wheelchair and I would love to come does anyone know if there would be accessible problems? I need to know asap so I can plan. Also I would need to bring a care aide ( someone to help with my tent and cooking etc would that be alright? Thanks for any information

    June 15

    • Joel

Hi Nichole! I'm Joel, one of the Story Tellers for the game. We'd love to have you out, but I'm afraid this site isn't very conducive to a wheelchair. If I recall things correctly, the access points and parking lots would likely be navigable, but we also have to make use of a lot hilly, uneven terrain surrounded by stabby Yucca plants.

If you contact the Story Team at [masked], we can talk with you in more detail about which of our upcoming events would be the most accessible, as well as discuss ways that we can better accommodate you at future events.
