Table #5 (Bob): A band of brothers, preaching an unusual philosophy, have fomented rebellion in the rural areas of Xiao. Their leader, called Heaven's General, has proclaimed a teaching of Supreme Truth and predicts the downfall of the Dragon Emperor. This rebellion has raised the ire of the Xiaoan military, and a "Pacification Army" is on its way to "humble the rebels." Magistrates of provinces caught in the crossfire have put out a call for heroes to help defend the people, and merchants are likewise seeking mercenaries to protect their assets. Who will answer the call?

[Sidenote: Shui's home province is a contested region. Because of course.]

To be on the safe side, post a comment on Bob's blurb on the Facebook group. Bob has to leave early, so this table is going to start right at 11 am and wrap by (I think) 4 pm.

Table #2 (Rachel): One of the Tughan leaders has vanished; Batukhan. Rumors of his fate are wildly disparate, and no one seems quite to know what has happened. To compound matters, until the situation is resolved, his horde is parked in Ruvasta, unwilling to act without solid leadership - a situation which makes the local boyars nervous and angry. The future of the Tughan horde rests on who leads it. While the person chosen shall of course be answerable to Khutabi, their influence on her may define the path the Tughans take in the future.

NOTE: This is going to be a very political game. Lots of talking, much deal-making, so influence trading.

Table #4 (Kari): It had come as a surprise to no one when illness swept through the camp after the battles. Akrodexiá, unwilling to be dimmed by the invasion, had welcomed survivors from neighboring islands. Their kindness had earned them little but death. Between the influx of strangers, the varied open wounds of battle, the cramped accommodations, and the meager meals, a plague had taken root.

Beneath the sails of the infirmary, Othalia sat with mortar and pestle, grinding some of the herbs from the grove for her many patients when a quiet -thud- sounded from outside. The chiurgeon set her work aside, striding out to investigate. She drew in a breath, eyes going wide at the crumpled form in the grass.

"The magistrate is dead... Akrodexiá is abandoned. Who will help us now?"

This is a low-combat game with a focus on investigation and politics.

Hi there, I have yet to come to a LARP event but would love to join in some table-top gaming this Saturday. Is there anything I need to do as a Dying Kingdoms newbie?

    • Sam S.

If you haven't already made a PC, and sent it into records, that is all you really need.

Thanks Sam, I think I'm all set.

Table #8 (Ed): The town of Halberry has fallen victim to a recent rash of ..disappearances. There is little rhyme or reason to those that have gone missing. Children, the elderly and the able-bodied all have been targeted. The only pattern is that the victims are always alone, and none that have trained in combat have actually been targeted. Local authorities are at a loss to explain due to the lack of witnesses or evidence. Rumors spread like wild fire: everything from demons, ancient Sauren, restless spirits, or just bandits have been blamed. The silver lining is that no bodies have been found, but peasants whisper it's only a matter of time. Rory Burnett, the Laird of Halberry Keep, calls for assistance. With so many Culberran soldiers busy with rebuilding, he lacks the resources to devote solving this mystery. Perhaps a few of the heroes recently returned from the liberation of Circadia can come solve this mystery.

    Ideally 6-8 players.

Table #7 (Jesse): When the city of Verrakis burned during the otherworldly invasion, survivors fled the carnage on foot or by ship. Tiny trade outposts in distant ports of call suddenly became burgeoning settlements for craftspeople and farmers looking to make new homes for themselves. Last week in the colony of Nueva Tierra, a prominent merchant who trades in silver was found torn apart in his home. Yesterday, a Verrakan guild explorer was similarly discovered dead inside a locked room. Locals say that an angry creature has been awakened in the jungle. The authorities believe this to be the work of a deranged murderer bent on "making an example" of Verrakan residents. Matters are not helped by the claims that the old spirits of the lands, no longer appeased since the deaths of many villages nearby, are now ranging forth to exact bloody tribute...

    For up to 6 players.

Table #1 (Joel): Although the bloody war against the Sauren continues far to the south, there is great rejoicing in the northern Mahutec City of Thunder and Wave. It is the time of the Cabrakan! The great battle of individual might that will determine leadership among the city for the next year. For those that have never seen the Cabrakan, it is truly a sight to behold. All warriors that enter as contenders must face off in the great stadium in a test of strength and guile, each seeking to eliminate the others by forcing them from the raised dais. Meanwhile, a council of war will convene to discuss the ongoing conflict with the Sauren. With the majority of their resources devoted to the front lines, the City of Thunder and Wave requests assistance from the northern nations in ensuring the city, their visitors, and the sacred rites of the Cabrakan are protected from outside influence.

    I don't have a max, but can handle 6 to 8 comfortably.

Table #6 (Mary): They say there is a place where the Mad Emperor Halos kept his master of necromancy. No one dares enter this place. Rumors fly of the butchery that went on here, tales of the black legion, tales of depravity, death, and pain. The streets of Albiera whisper feverishly about recent activity surrounding this house, the windows flicker with ghostly green light at all hours of the night, mad bubbling laughter races through the cobwebs in the forgotten garden, and screams can be heard below the stones before being violently cut off. Some of you have seen this place in your dreams, maybe it tugs at the necromantic powers you hold, maybe it speaks to your past, or perhaps this darkness echoes something in your soul...

[Enter at your own risk, this is a potentially grimdark psychological/violent horror game that will involve evil forces, you might get hurt, altered, or haunted... bring your RP Game face. :-) ]

Table #3 (Nox): The shores of the Circadian Seas run red with the blood of the fallen and the corpses of both the invading sauron and native sailors fill the hundreds of harbors and ports across the many isles of the recently war-torn kingdom. In response to Circadia’s great need, gold and resources are transported through turbulent waters, and a call has been made to heroes of all kind to rally together to see these ships safely to their destination.

This adventure offers players an opportunity to negotiate, privateer, and/or fight--as they see fit--in working together to support Circadia after the events of the July camper. While this is mainly a naval adventure, characters of all creed will find something of interest. It begins in Mirror Bay and ends in unknown waters.

Hi gang! Here's an important cross-post from our Facebook group regarding DOWNTIMES! With the downtime deadline this Saturday (7/23) and our web forms still in flux, we're implementing a TEMPORARY change in policy.

Complex DT will still be due by July 23. To submit a Complex DT, email the Story Team and use the following subject line, "July 2016 DT: [Your Character Name Here]". Failure to use the correct subject line may result in a loss of your DT. If you have already submitted a Complex DT via the online form, RESUMBIT it via email.

Second, the Simple DT deadline will be extended one week until Saturday, July 30. Do NOT email Simple DTs. Our hope is that the web form issues will be resolve soon and that you will be able to make use of them for the Simple DT submissions. If the issues take longer than expected to resolve, we'll consider other options.
