  • This location is shown only to members

The Mobile space is heating up with Microsoft's Windows Phone platform and their upcoming Windows 8 launch. So we have invited Ben Riga and John Alioto from Microsoft to share how to get started and be successful on the Microsoft Mobile platform.

Ben will discuss the Windows Phone platform and John will cover the upcoming WIndows 8 platform that's currently in beta.

If you haven't already, please take a minute to update your RSVP!!

Since we have two great presentations, our meetup will be longer than usual. The agenda will be as follows:

6:30 pm - Pizza, Drinks & Networking

7:00 pm - Windows Phone presentation, Q&A

8:00 pm - Windows 8 presentation, Q&A

9:00 pm - Wrap up, lights out!

Big shout out to our venue sponsor 580 Exec Center for their beautiful facility and wonderful support staff!

Windows Phone

Windows Phone 7.5 is a different kind of phone, architected to put the focus on end users and the people important to them.  Developers on the Windows Phone platform build compelling, connected experiences that enhance the phone and integrate tightly with the end-user experience.  In this session we'll provide an overview of Windows Phone device and developer platform and discuss why you should make Windows Phone a platform for your apps.

Windows 8

We will discuss why Windows 8 is described as “Windows reimagined.”  Topics include an introduction and demonstration of Metro style apps in the context of the new Windows 8 touch first experience, Search and Share contracts as well as Live Tiles.  We will also discuss the new Windows Store and the opportunity it represents for business large and small as well as developers.   There will also be a short introduction to the developer tools available for creating great Metro style apps.

Whether you're a new developer or someone who has already developed over a dozen apps, this session is a great way for you to learn about the exciting opportunities in mobile development.
